Overview
Leverage past project insights to proactively manage new initiatives. The 'Apply Past Lessons' workflow analyzes new initiatives against historical ones to identify and suggest relevant lessons. You then select applicable lessons, and the system generates corresponding risks for your risk log.
Initiative Creation
Define Your Initiative
To establish a new project or strategic effort in Kiplot, create an initiative by providing its name, description, and timeframes. Enter the initiative name and a detailed description. Specify the start and end periods for the initiative. Confirm these details to add the initiative to your portfolio.
Confirm Initiative Creation
Finalize the creation of your new initiative. After entering the initiative details, a success message confirms the initiative is now part of your strategic portfolio.
Apply Past Lessons
Initiate Lesson Application
To inform your new initiative with past project experiences, begin applying lessons learned from similar past initiatives. This process identifies potential risks and actions for your current project. From your new initiative's details page, select 'Apply Past Lessons with AI' to start the analysis.
Process AI Lesson Analysis
To gain insights from historical data, initiate the AI analysis. Kiplot's AI reviews past initiatives to find lessons similar and applicable to your new initiative. A progress indicator shows the analysis is underway, comparing your current initiative with similar past projects to suggest risks and preventive actions.
Review and Add Suggested Risks
To incorporate relevant historical risks into your current initiative's risk log, review the AI-suggested risks and select those to add. After the AI completes its analysis, a list of suggested risks appears. Review each risk's summary, description, impact, and probability. Select the risks most relevant to your new initiative and add them to your risk log.
Your Selection Matters
The AI generates risks only from the lessons you select. Choose the most relevant lessons to ensure accurate risk identification.
