Financial Locks

Overview

Financial Lock Settings control the editability of cost and benefit forecasts, actuals, and adjustments within financial profiles. Configure these settings to define which financial data points can be edited by financial users.

Configure Financial Locks

Specify how financial data is edited by defining precise editing permissions for costs and benefits within forecasts, actuals, and adjustments. Within the 'Locks' section of the Financials configuration, select the appropriate lock status for each financial category. Choose 'Costs Locked' to prevent users from editing costs while allowing benefit edits. Select 'Benefits Locked' to prevent benefit edits while allowing cost modifications. Select 'Locked' to prevent all edits. Select 'Editable' to allow all financial users with access to make changes.

Financial Profile Locks

  • Locked – When a financial profile is locked, no users can edit any data within it. Both Cost and Benefit Forecasts are read-only, ensuring the data remains fixed for reporting or review purposes.

  • Editable – In this state, the financial profile is fully open for editing. Users with the appropriate permissions can modify both Cost and Benefit Forecasts as needed.

  • Benefits Locked – In this state, Benefit Forecasts cannot be modified, but Cost Forecasts remain editable. This is useful when benefit assumptions are finalized but cost estimates may still change.

  • Costs Locked – In this state, Cost Forecasts cannot be modified, while Benefit Forecasts remain editable. This setting is typically used when cost figures have been approved or finalized.

Separate Cost/Benefit Locks

Choosing 'Costs Locked' or 'Benefits Locked' restricts only one data type. Select 'Locked' to prevent all edits to both costs and benefits.
