Overview
Add a new user by entering their details and assigning module permissions in realm settings. Then, initiate password setup to grant system access.
User Access
Open User Creation Form
To add a new user to Kiplot, open the user creation form. This action begins the process of granting access to the Kiplot platform. Click the 'Create new user' button in the top bar of the 'Manage Users' section.
Input User Details
Enter the new user's name and email address, and select their role. This ensures the user is set up correctly. Fill in the 'Name' and 'Email' fields, then select the appropriate 'User Role' from the dropdown menu. You can also pre-configure access levels for modules like 'Strategic Portfolio', 'Financials', and 'Reporting'.
Assign User Role
Define the user's functional access by assigning a specific role. This role determines default permissions and access levels across Kiplot modules. Select the desired role from the 'User Role' dropdown menu.
Set Module Permissions
Grant or restrict access to specific modules to ensure users only access relevant features and data. Adjust the dropdown selections for modules such as 'Strategic Portfolio', 'Financials', 'Approvals', 'Reporting', and 'Derived Datasets'.
Submit New User
Finalize the initial setup and add the user to your Kiplot instance by submitting the form. Click the 'create user' button to save the new user's profile.
User Authentication
Initiate Password Setup
Allow the new user to securely access their account by initiating the password setup. This action sets a temporary password for the user. Navigate to the user's details page and click the 'Set password?' prompt.
Enter Matching Passwords
Ensure the password is set correctly by entering matching passwords. Type your desired password into the 'Password' field and re-enter the exact same password into the 'Password confirmation' field.
Confirm Password Setting
Secure the user's account and allow them to log in by confirming the password setting. Click the 'Save password' button to apply the new password.
